Mr. Monkey

You've adored me for the pisky me
You've adored me for my scars
For the damage I am
Have been the ear for my weird dreams, which I bring to reality.
I might have made and am and shall make pesky little mistakes
For, I shall even live by them
But, I don't want you to forget the gem of a person I am
The one full of cats and fries
I want you to coddle me with your cuddles
I want to be that shoulder to you
When you are happy and when you're sad
I want to be there when I'm not even next to you
I am cheesy at times
And irrelevant all the time
Should I be also sailing in the same wind?
To count on you to be by my side?
Cause I'm afraid you won't be waiting for me on the other side.
A single day to piles of weeks which joined us into months and hopefully into years
I am here to hold your hand
I just wish I can count on you too
Can I not, Mr Monkey?
Maybe you could save the last dance?
Or we could go old school and hold each other tight at the prom when I said yes for when the curtains opened with you holding the sign, asking me
P R O M?
Only we aren't like in the movies
The perfect of loads of imperfections
That's more 'WE'
Both of you and I
Because we can build our own white screen
If there's a gap of misunderstanding
The one where I refuse to understand and you never participate and ignore
Can we mend it with a little fight at 2 am?
I'll be tender with my words
And I hope you won't be tough on me either, Mr Beckham
Crazy it may seem
I might have changed, with the changing seasons
So have you
The change in me is visible to you, I hope you can see something from my view
With all that in mind
Can we just be you with the 'cats and fries'
And if yes, then just apologize!
And everything will be butterflies.
